Military Macaws
A smaller sized macaw, with a somewhat less colorful featheration. These birds are a consideration for someone who doesn't have the space for the larger cage necessary for some Macaw species.
This bird may be somewhat confrontational to the inexperienced bird owner however, and requires limits set early in your relationship, to establish the bird and the boss of the household.
Sometimes thought to be a good choice for a single person in the household as they tend to bond with only one person in a family situation.
Although a smaller Macaw, they still need lots of room for play, so do not purchase an inadequate cage. Toys, swings, rope ladders will all be enthusiastically enjoyed by this pet.
A pelleted diet, fresh veggies, lots of fresh fruits, and a high quality seed/nut mixture are necessary in the diet. Prevent boredom by also providing well cooked eggs, white meat, pastas, grains, etc.
