Meyer's
The Meyers parrot is another one of the Poicephalus group. 9" in length, the males and females look alike and DNA sexing must be done to determine gender.
Robust birds, they love to climb and are usually quite active. Provide a cage large enough to allow adequate room for their activity. Capable of speech, they can be taught to talk fairly well, but are usually considered to be a quieter bird. Could be a good consideration for apartment and condo dwellers.
Feed your Meyers a pelleted diet along with fresh fruits, vegetables, pasta, grains, in addition to some seed and nuts as treats. They usually enjoy a spray bath, and may like to accompany you right into your shower.
Provide fun toys for climbing, frequent out of the cage time, and interaction with their people and these calm birds will be life long wonderful companions.
$399 UNWEANED, ON THREE HAND FEEDINGS DAILY, TO EXPERIENCED HAND FEEDERS ONLY.
