An average length for these would be approximately 16 inches and 265 grams in weight. Good talking ability but not considered usually to be "great" talkers.
Owners of the Illiger's usually claim that they are somewhat quieter than some of the other choices and that, along with their size, may make them suited for apartment dwelling or condos if you have your heart set on a Macaw.
