Blue Crown Conures
These Conures are found in nature from Venezuela to Argentina and are usually thought to be one of the best talkers in the Conure group. Also one of the larger Conures, they measure approximately 15 inches.
Friendly, and willing to be held by most anyone they encounter, they are sweet natured, sometimes even when kept in pairs. The movie "Paulie" was about a Blue Crown Conure, and just as in the movie, they can be wonderful pets with children and all family members.
Provide a cage larger than most Conures need, due to their size. 24" x 24" is recommended. Lots of fun toys to chew and play with. They may appreciate tents and snugglies to cuddle up inside at night.
Provide a healthy diet of pellets, vegetables and fruit, in addition to pastas and grains and a high quality seed/nut mixture.
These birds can be family members for an expected twenty-five years when well cared for and fed properly.
